Primary 7 Fairytale Pantos

Primary one and primary 4 enjoyed a special seasonal treat this week when they watched groups of Primary 7s perform three act fairy tales.  The buddying stars of the future,performed Cinderella, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast.

Next week, Primary 5 are looking forward to seeing another version of Beauty and the Beast and Hansel and Gretel.

Potential Heroes/Heroines

P7B applied for the post of hero(/heroine) in our class fantasy story. All applications were considered then seven candidates were selected for interview. Each candidate took part in seven interviews. All answers were scored (according to pre-determined criteria) and points added up.

The successful candidate was Rebecca Wood (a.k.a. Morgan). 

Well done to everyone who took part.

Sciennes Choir

The Sciennes choir gave a fabulous, fantastic and fun performance at the carol concert to celebrate the switching on of Marchmont's Christmas tree.

The ever gorgeous Tess switched on the lights. 

World War 1 Poetry Workshop

A while back, Primary 7 took part in an excellent poetry workshop at the castle.  Upon return to school, we redrafted our poems.  Here are some pictures of us at the workshop.

Santa's elves

Santa was very ably helped by hard working and friendly elves yesterday. His grotto was magical.

Puppet Shows

The P7 pupils who were not taking part in Sportshall Athletics were set a challenge this morning. Working in groups of four they had to create and present a puppet show that either retold a known fairytale or pesented a new fairytale they had made up.

Start Stop Animation

P7B have been learning about the Hindu religion. Working in small groups, they used stop-motion animation to demonstrate their learning by retelling either the story of Lakshmi or the story of Rama and Sita.

Smoothie Magic P7C

Last week were looking at how to increase fruit and vegetable portions through making and drinking smoothies. Each house made their own recipe and tasted them. They were delicious.
